About
History
Following the closure of Ampex Electronics in 1993 (in Reading, Berkshire, UK) Broadcast Service Centre Limited (BSC) was established to provide professional repair services for Ampex machines and other manufacturer’s tape machines and equipment.
In 2012, David Reid, the founder of BSC, retired and the company was acquired by Glantre Engineering Ltd, an industry leader in delivering Entertainment Technology systems.
BSC is a wholly owned subsidiary of Glantre Engineering.
Our engineers have many years’ experience in the cleaning and alignment of electromechanical tape machines, having worked through the transition from tape-based machines to modern solid-state solutions.
Our engineers continue to support repairs on legacy machines where spare parts are still available and can clean and realign any working machine.
More recently, BSC has become an Authorised Service Centre for Sony, Panasonic and Wohler Broadcast equipment, Leader Electronics instrumentation and signal processors, and Yamaha Professional Audio equipment.
BSC engineers work closely with manufacturers’ support staff in the UK and worldwide to provide engineering excellence in service and repairs and our clients include major broadcasters.
